Hobo Friday night will start at 8:00 PM when the Bonfire is lite.
The festivities will include a pitch-in so you making your own HOBO
DINNER and placing it in the fire to cook, just sitting around the
bonfire talking caching and camping stories, and hopefully some
good sing along music.
For those of you who are camping you may
start setting up camp @ 8:00AM. We ask you to CITO. Please leave
this wonderful park cleaner than you found it so they will let us
continue to hold these events.
Camping is 1st come 1st serve, but that is no problem, there is
always empty sites, in fact hardly ever more than a couple of sites
are in use. I'll be going to the park around 10:00 on Fri. and will
get sites for every 1 that says they want 1. The park charges
$1.00 per person each night. There is no electricity, running
water, or showers, there are rest rooms with running water about
1500 -2000 feet from the camp sites. These sites are close to the
parking area guessing about 3000 feet. I've got gas lanterns enough
to light up all the area our group will want.
HELP! HELP!! HELP!!! HELP!!!! HELP!!!! HELP!!! HELP!! HELP! We
are asking anyone with the ability to bring or deliver fire wood to
the event site to please contact Roger at rldill@yahoo.com or call
me at (336)214-0780 and let us know.
Sing Along
For all of you guitar player, harmonica player, spoon player, etc…
please bring your instruments and join in the sing along. YOU DON’T
EVEN HAVE TO SING IN TUNE.
Hobo Dinner Ingredients
Hobo dinners are made by taking a piece of foil and filling it with
your favorite meat, vegetables, and seasonings. Fold the foil
around your ingredients and placing it in the fire.
Ingredients;
Meat (Ground beef is the meat of choice, 80% lean or lower to use
the fat to cook)
Potatoes (uncooked Idaho, Red or Yellow)
Onions
Green and Red Peppers
Carrots
Foil (I use Reynolds Wrap because it stands up to the heat
better)
Any Marinade (A1, BBQ sauce, etc… for after it is cooked)
We re asking those who wish to participate to pitch-in to bring
1lb of ground beef and your favorite vegetable for this tasty
campfire meal. We will help you get you dinner in and out of the
fire.
