I haven't been able to gain much information on the significance of this stone.

It appears to be an allignment stone with a standing stone 700 metres away. There is much information relating to that stone at stonesofwonder. There ia a cache located there called Stone Standing GC11M4N.

If you follow the route as mentioned above and park your car at the entrance to the private farm road you have two options when you reach In Hindsight. Firstly, you can head cross country for 10 minutes or so to Columba’s Chapel and pick up the track there. Secondly, You can head down past Pollphail village and pick up the main road back to the car approximately 20 minutes.
