To celebrate their milestone, the 100th cache placed by Team
Marzipan was called The Mother Cache (GC15RYZ). The object of The
Mother Cache is for finders to take ready-prepared caches, BUT ONLY
if they are going to hide them as Daughter Caches. PLEASE
KEEP DOGS ON A LEAD. This is Pheasant breeding and rearing
land

A series of caches placed in the 'true meaning' of geocaching, that
takes you along footpaths that you wouldn't normally go along and
have often wondered where they went!
If you decide to try and do the series at night, there could very
well be a gamekeeper around, so you do so at your own risk!
Please be aware that there is a Pheasant shoot in the area
every THURSDAY & SATURDAY Morning until the end of
January.
Gwysaney, near Mold, is a Grade II*-listed Jacobean hall ensconced
in 1,660 of its own acres, with a renowned shoot and award-winning
trees. Gwysaney’s gardens alone stretch to 40 acres.
Originally Gwysaney Hall was built on a H plan, that was, until it
started to fall down the hill! The unsafe East Wing was demolished
in around 1823 and it was a further forty years before the East
Wing was remodelled.
Regardless of the Victorian alterations the house is Jacobean in
the main having been built in 1603 but its wonderful front door
bears the date 1640 and the initials RAD.
The hall, which is about 1.5miles out of town on the Denbigh Road,
has seen many changes - including surviving a siege from Cromwell's
Parliamentarian forces in 1645 and an 1850 partial rebuild. Sadly
this beautiful Hall is currently For Sale.
