Time around noon til whenever... Drive
to Atascadero, get on Highway 41 East to Capistrano Ave. (the
first light East of El Camino Real) and turn left.Drive to
the stop sign and turn right. (You are still on Capistrano.)
Drive about 2 blocks and park. Don't block the fire road. You
will see a sign for Stadium Park on the other side of the
highway bridge.
Be aware that you will be walking a
up a short trail so don't pack too heavy. Rikki and I will be
hauling an ice chest full of ice for your drinks and stuff so you
don't need to cart a big cooler up to the park. The park is a
lovely, secluded box canyon with no amenities. Pack a cold lunch as
there are no BBQ grills. You may want to bring a folding beach
chair if sitting on your blanket is not comfortable
enough.
We would like someone to head up a few kids
games or activities. We plan to lay out a simple geogame for the
older kids to play in the main park level. There are three, soon to
be four, fairly easy caches nearby and a moderately heavy climb to
the top of Pine mountain to reach a cache and a
benchmark.
We would appreciate any help you can
provide.
As to the weather, we'll just have to watch
and see.
