Centre is open when you are in the area it is well worth a visit.
They are open daily till mid October, Weekends only from then till
Christmas, Closed in January and February, reopening
Thursdays-Sundays in March for the nesting season. In the spring
they have web cams with live feed on the grey heron nesting areas
around the mere.
The Ellesmere area is known as the Shropshire Lake District with
a number of glacial meres in the area. A natural nesting area for
lots of water fowl and the grey heron in particular. There are
picnic areas nearby and a playground for the children. The walk to
the cache is along a paved area and both buggy and handicap
friendly, however a wheelchair user would need a partner to
retrieve the cache. In this cache you will obtain the northern
co-ordinates for the Pisces cache. They are on the back of the
geocache card and on the inside cover of the logbook. Contents
include log book, pencil and sharpener (please do not remove) a
bookmark, tissues, a 2005 date book, china doll and several
collectible items.
This is a dog-walking area and often lots of muggles present so
please take care when retrieving and replacing the cache. You would
be advised to get a good reading on your GPSr before entering the
park area as the tree cover can make it come and go depending on
the season.
A big thanks to the Shropshire County Council and the wardens of
the Countryside Commission for their permission and assistance in
placing this cache.
