Mini Me Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

slammer47: PHOTOS ATTACHED TO CACHE PAGE GALLERY.

What I feared is true. This place was bulldozed to smithereenes. All plant life has been ravaged and thrashed and large quantities of trees have been cut down.

Stages #7 final (Mini Me) and #5 Mini Nuts got it the worst.

In the rubble I found 1 of the 2 geocoins and the final logbook and bits and parts of the stage containers. I will continue to look for that missing coin.

I have collected all stage container pieces except stage #1 that I plan to turn into a traditional hide next week.

I am so sorry for those who did not get the chance to get this cache in its short 8 month life (Bernoulli!). I'm a believer in keeping caches alive with constant maintenence, however with the land being bulldozed, there's not much hope to re-enable this with the future of the land unknown.

Bernoulli...stay tuned for "Mini Me One"

NA NA NAA NAAHH GOODBYE.

Geocache Description:

SEVEN stage terrain multi cache just outside Tipp City limits. All stages are within .1-.2 miles walking distance of eachother so park at N39 56.757 W084 09.853 at pull-off only 60 feet from stage one. Your total round-trip will be about 1.2 miles. It is recommended that you wear old clothes. You'll be walking, crawling, climbing, hopping across small stream, and possibly wading in ankle-deep water. Be careful crossing the road between stages. Takes ~1 hour.

The terrain 4.5 rating is more of a summation of all the stages than any one stage by itself. There are some uncomfortable crawls and climbs involved and some tall grass bushwacking in the summer months so this cache is not for everyone.

This cache can be done solo or if you would like it can be done as a team effort as long as each member of your team completes at least one stage - just be sure to note what stage you completed in your found-it log. The climb at stages 6 is considered difficult by some. No more than 4 person teams please.

Please feel free to post pictures of your adventure in your logs. None of the stages are meant to be a secret - EXCEPT THE FINAL LOCATION! If you want to take a picture with the final container take a LONG walk away from the location so not to give it away in your photo. Also do not post pictures of the final stage clues in each stage of the multi.

Allow myself to introduce... myself! That's [me], slammer47, in a nutshell. No, this is me in a nutshell: "Help! I'm in a nutshell! How did I get into this bloody great big nutshell? What kind of shell has a nut like this?" Start your adventure at stage 1 and this Austin Power's quote might take on a whole new meaning.

I am a big fan of higher terrain geocaches and I am also a big fan of the Austin Powers movies. Each 100th milestone find I am trying to find a higher d/t combo. It gives me something to look forward to and more motivation to make a find I might otherwise skip. You might even like to do this one for a milestone of your own one day - or even some of the caches highlighted by the stages of this cache. Visit this bookmark list favorite terrains-slammer47's to find more of my favorite terrain finds.

Each stage of this multi was "artificially created in a lab" and resembles one of my favorite high terrain finds out there in my first 1200 finds...

...only a smaller version of it.

If you enjoy a particular stage of the cache, I encourage you to go find the bigger version someday if you haven't already. Now onto the stage descriptions. Stage #1 begins at the listed coordinates for this cache.

FIVE of the SIX stages leading up to the final seventh stage contain both coordinates for the next stage and a piece of the coordinates for the final stage appropriately named "Mini Me". There are SIX coordinate pieces (one stage includes two of those pieces).

Stage 3 does not contain a coordinate piece but this stage is needed to find the location for stage 4. So even if you luck out and find a stage out of sequence, you still need to find the rest of the stages to get the SIX needed final coordinate pieces.

STAGE 1:
Mini How bout these apples?!?! (GC16Q52)
Terrain Estimate = 3.5-4.0
---- Altoids container. You will see the cache container before you decide whether you want to do the terrain. Wear old clothes. This stage is much shorter than the real How bout these apples!?!? but just as clostrophobic. Note: The top half of the container is glued in place and the other half slides one way to open the container.

STAGE 2:
Mini AMMO with a Problem (GCZJ6C)
Terrain Estimate = 2.0-2.5
---- When you arrive at this stage you are looking for an AMMO can, only a mini version of one. It is NOT on the ground and it should be obvious where it is - the tree is slanting. If you've got a lighter person on your team send them for this one. Getting there its all about your footing and less about your hands. All the good footholds are on the left-hand side. The container is tied in place so please bring yourself to the container and don't try to bring the container to yourself. Do not do anything you shouldn't, and send another team member up for it if your instincts tell you you shouldn't be doing this stage.

STAGE 3:
Mini Ice Pick Man's Cave (GC15Q4B)
Terrain Estimate = 1.5-2.0
---- There is only a complimentary 35mm container with these instructions at the coordinates for this stage. Go to the stage 3 coordinates and you will find a tunnel under the road. Count the number of vertical concrete sections in the tunnel and number of ill tempered sea bass in the water. Use this information to find stage 4.

XX=? (number of vertical concrete sections; a 2 digit number)
Y=? (number of ill tempered sea bass in the water)
STAGE 4 = N39 56.653 W084 XX.Y71

Stage 3 does not contain a coordinate piece but this stage is needed to find the location for stage 4.

STAGE 4:
Mini Linus and Lucy (GC1AWC4)
Terrain Estimate = 2.0-2.5
----You're looking for a horizontal fallen tree. Don't slip or you may get wet. Container is a small camoed matchstick tube.

STAGE 5:
Mini Nuts! (GC14F3C)
Terrain estimate = 1.5-2.0, Difficulty estimate = 2.0-2.5
---- Container is a small camoed lock-n-lock. Even the terrain getting to the container is a mini version of the real Nuts! Do NOT cross the fence - the container is on the same side of the fence as the access road to the powerline tower. There are plenty of natural long tools lying around to retrieve the cache.

STAGE 6:
Mini Lane Change second stage (GCVYCK)
Terrain estimate = 3.5-4.0
---- This one is nowhere near as hard to get to as the original Lane Change and its not quite as high up, but its still quite the challenge. Enter the woods about 200 feet from the tracks for the easiest way in (I don't recommend entering near the tracks because there is a fence there). This is a live railroad so don't play on the tracks. The cache stage is up in a tree at the given coordinates for this stage in the woods. If you've done Lane Change you will see the shocking resemblence at this stage. Please be careful and be sure of all foot and handholds. Do not do anything you shouldn't, and send another team member up for it if your instincts tell you you shouldn't be doing this stage. Container is a small camoed swimming pool key container.

STAGE 7:
Mini Me
Terrain estimate = 2.5-3.0
You have collected SIX numbers that correspond to the letters A through F (one stage has two pieces) at FIVE of the SIX stages leading up to the final SEVENTH stage.
The final is located at:
N39 56.ABC W084 09.DEF
You are looking for a regular sized lock-n-lock container. Inside it is $100 million dollars, MWHAAAHAAAHAAAA! ... well, no, not really. Note: Think Mini Me...bring yourself to the container, do NOT bring the container to yourself. Otherwise you will be destroying the integrity of the hide. Please do NOT destroy its hiding spot. And make sure the container is hidden back the way you found it (it should NOT be on the ground).

I would like to thank the following cachers for placing the original
LARGER versions that inspired the stages of this multi:
