Geocache Description:

You are looking for a waterproof matchstick container wrapped in black duct tape.

This is a series of five caches – four traditional and one mystery/puzzle cache that will take you on a tour of New Berlin's best parks. To find the coordinates for the final, you must first demonstrate your knowledge of the rules of Shotgun! by finding each of the four traditional caches. Each cache contains partial coordinates for the final.

Shotgun! refers to the front passenger seat of a vehicle, where there’s more legroom, access to the radio and temperature controls, and of course, an unobstructed view of your surroundings. According to legend, this term got its name from the days of covered wagons, where a passenger carried a shotgun to protect the travelers from bandits while the driver was free to concentrate on driving.

The basic rule of Shotgun! is that the first person to yell Shotgun! wins his or her place in the front seat next to the driver. However, what usually happens is a long, heated argument about the rules. Right? Well, lucky for you, RatMatt is here to clear it all up for you once and for all. Here are the official rules of Shotgun!. It doesn’t matter what you may have heard from anyone else. These are the rules. Period.

Rule 1 – GC25HNY

Rule 2 - GC25HNQ

Rule 3 - GC25HP1

Rule 4 - GC25HPX

Final - GC25GDV

Rule 1: visibility. You must be able to see the vehicle before you yell Shotgun!. No yelling Shotgun! while you’re still in the grocery store, movie theater, etc. By the way, knowing that your car is parked behind a big black van isn’t the same thing as seeing it. Also, you must be outside. Seeing the car through the window doesn’t count.
