Geocache Description:

This cache is an ammo can of hiking goodies, located in the White Tanks Recreation Area. The cache also contains a camera, so please take a moment to photograph your team. We'll post a link here to allow you to see your pictures!

Welcome to Ford Canyon Trail. The cache is a standard ammo can, clearly marked with an "Official Geocache" label.

The first part of the Ford Canyon Trail is a fairly gentle, upward grade. At 1.81 miles from the Ford Canyon Trailhead at Ramada #9, you will encounter this warning sign. The trail from this point on is fairly rugged, sometimes it becomes a narrow "V" in the rocks. This is why we rated the terrain as a 4. Still a beautiful area for hiking. We encountered a single deer on this excursion, also saw a red-tailed hawk that seemed to be watching us as much as we were watching it. This is a desert area, snakes and other venomous creatures are present.

If you do not wish to have any further information about the location cache, this would be a good place to stop reading.

This is the point of departure from the trail. Note the double saquaro behind us, and the lone saguaro above us. There are other approaches to the cache location, this one seemed to be the easiest. If water is running (an infrequent occurence) I doubt I would try it.
Here we are standing just outside the shallow cave in which the cache is stored, trying to get a good GPS location for you. I had to walk/climb about 50 feet away to get a good signal, and then project a waypoint. I don't pretend to be an expert, I hope that this will get you close to the cache. Elevation for the cache is right at 2000 feet.

And if all else fails, here's a giant sign in the desert!

Cache contents follow a hiking theme. Please make sure the cache is returned to the same condition of hiding (get a big rock on it so the coyotes can't get it). Enjoy - and please remember to CITO.
