Geocache Description:

"Bottom of the World" is the sister cache of our Top of the World" (GCY31Z, on Piz Julier). While the latter is hmmm not all that easy to reach, this one can be combined with a leisurely stroll from St.Moritz to Lej da Staz.

The cache is a small tupperware box. When you retrieve it, please take care of the cover and put the cover right back how you found it. Once logged, you can take a rest on the nearby bench, enjoy the view of Piz Julier, and contemplate how nice it would be to ... to go and log "Top of the World" as well :)

Note: While the cache is situated well above and away of the St.Moritz gunnery range, depending on the path you take to approach it, you still might get into the danger zone. If, while still at the bottom of the hill, you can hear the sound of guns discharging, we recommend that you postpone the cache until later.

"Bottom of the World" ist der Partner-Cache von unserem "Top of the World" Cache (GCY31Z auf dem Piz Julier, 3384m). Da der Cache auf dem Piz Julier nicht ganz so einfach zu erreichen ist, gibt es diesen Cache als "Trösterli", und mit einer tollen Aussicht auf den Piz Julier ab dem Bänkli in der Nähe des Caches. "Bottom of the World" kann ab St.Moritz Bahnhof in ca 30min erreicht werden, aber es geht ganz schön aufwärts - wenn auch nicht ganz so übel aufwärts wie beim Piz Julier :-). Der Cache ist eine 12x7 cm Tupperware Box, hat also nicht viel Platz für dicke Gadgets.

Hinweis: Der Cache liegt zwar wesentlich höher als der Schiessplatz unten im Dorf, aber abhängig von dem Weg den Du zum Cache wählst, kannst Du doch in die "Gefahrenzone" gelangen. Wir empfehlen deshalb, bei Schiessbetrieb (das hört man schon unten im Dorf :) das Besteigen des Hügels auf später zu verschieben.

Der Hügel ist im Winter ein Wildschutzgebiet. Der Cache ist deshalb von Dezember bis mindestens Ende März (je nach Schneemenge) gesperrt und inaktiv.

The cache location is a wildlife protection area during winter time and off-limits to hikers. We therefore set the cache to "inactive" from December to at least March (depending on snow cover).
