We've long been intrigued by the Milford and Manchester Railroad that was only in use for a few short years.
This cache is placed on the old railroad bed in Bedford, NH as it turns northeast to head into the center of Bedford. On some maps the railroad bed in this area is labeled as Bow Lane but there is no lane there today. :)
To get to the "trailhead" take Chestnut Drive off of Route 101. The trailhead waypoint is not really a trailhead but it is a break in the trees where you can start walking towards the cache. There are now no parking signs near the trailhead as I belive the road is a fire lane for Bedford High School.
There is a trail in for a good part of the way. If you walk towards the cache co-ordinates from the "trailhead" and you stay to the north you'll see the railroad cut that first heads west and then curves towards the south. The cache isn't in the railroad cut (too much water)but it is within 20 feet or so of the railroad cut...if you walk from the GZ towards Route 101 you'll see the depressed area where the railroad ran west to east.
Please put the cache back carefully where you find it, and try to make sure there are a few twigs on top to camoflage it as during the school year this area if full of BHS LARPers on Monday afternoons.
