Geocache Description:

The Green County Barn Quilts project started in 2008, and by the end of 2010 the 100th barn quilt was installed. Barn quilts are painted wooden squares (designed like one block of a real quilt pattern), generally 8 x 8 feet in size. Some are located on "working" barns, and others are displayed on "retired" barns. It's not as challenging as geocaching, but hunting for the barn quilt locations is a true adventure in experiencing the roads less traveled of the Green County countryside.

This was originally a dairy barn and it is now used for storage and young cattle. It was moved to its current location around 1925 when the present milking barn was constructed by Rote Lumber. That barn is still used for milking 60 cows. The Hartwigs hosted the 8th annual Green County Breakfast on the Farm in 1987 when over 4,000 people came for breakfast. The Hartwigs have also hosted Cheese Days farm tours and international visitors during World Dairy Expo. This Barn Quilt is called Centennial.
