After almost a year of caching, and having read probably thousands of cache logs (both online and on paper), I think I know what qualities Geocachers like (and don't like) in caches. It seems there will always be someone who doesn't like something about any particular cache.
I have attempted to combine as many negative qualities as possible in this one cache. I couldn't get all of them into this one, so maybe there will be a series.
Things we like:
1. A nice view/camping spot/city park. Not here!
2. Interesting art or architecture. Hardly!
3. A great, invigorating hike. You can walk around if you want, but it's not hiking.
4. A clever hide to test my observational skills. Doubtful.
5. An imaginative puzzle to tax my mental abilities. Nope.
6. An interesting museum or historical site. Not!
Things we DO NOT LIKE:
1. The co-ordinates were off! Yes, Virginia, they are! But not enough to stop you from finding it.
2. It's in a bad part of town. Not the worst, but don't drop the kids off to wait for the bus here.
3. There were sticker-bushes/We had to bushwhack to the cache. I planted some catclaw and cholla seeds, but they will take years to grow.
4.The container was too small for my trade. Pretty small container here, but not micro by today's standards.
5. The cache contents were lame. I tossed in a couple of rocks from the roadside, nothing lamer than that! Let's try to keep the theme going!
6. The signs indicated 'Private Property'. I didn't have a sign with me, or I would have put one up myself.
There you go! I can't think of anything more right now. Perhaps finders will help me out for future caches in the possible series.
Feel free to vent your spleen in the logs, complain away and tell me how bad this cache is.
