Geocache Description:

The Organ Needle is the highest point of the jagged peaks which dominate the Las Cruces skyline. This cache is one of a series designed to assist adventurous geocachers to its top. The cache is not at the posted coordinates so there is no need to go there. Instead you must first find the Grey Emminence cache.

Juniper Saddle is an ideal resting place for the Organ Needle traveler. Indeed, the area has been used to camp out, and stash gear. Often when I hike to the Organ Needle, I will leave a bottle of water here to save for the return trip. That way I am not carrying this extra weight all the way to the summit, and I am guaranteed to have water for the hot return hike. From this resting spot the hike above appears daunting. The massive granite faces seem insurmountable. Yet there is a way, right near the base of the summit cliffs is a narrow canyon that leads the way to the top.

To get the coordinates for this cache, you must first find, The Grey Emminence. On the lid of that cache are the coordinates for the Juniper Saddle Cache. Due to the close proximity to the Fort Bliss boundary, the cache is a little ways from the actual saddle. Excercise caution retrieving the cache, it's tucked away in a tricky little spot. Once the cache is found, be sure to check the lid which contains coordinates to the next cache of the series, Dark Canyon.
