hammerjane: This series has gone strong for almost 9 years. It's time to put it to rest. I hope everyone had as much fun finding these caches as we had hiding them. There are a few in this series that have been adopted and are still active. CCS: Carmel, CCS: Providence, and CCS: Howell.

Geocache Description:

Cherokee Cemetery Series: Arrington

In 1879, James Arrington a Civil War veteran of the 31st Alabama Infantry Regiment donated the land and material for this church and community. He is buried in this cemetery, which is located behind Arrington Church where services are still held.

I’d advise that you not attempt this cache on a Wednesday night, Sunday morning, or Sunday night. Please remember to be discreet as with any geocache placed in a public area. Due to the location of the caches in this series it would be awkward explaining the nature of what you’re doing to someone who’s family member may be buried here.

The cache is a 35 mm container with a logbook – BYOP. It is hidden just outside of the cemetery.
