Geocache Description:

Rock Stall Nature Preserve. Area closes at 5:00.hrs 9-5 Daily Parking coords given. There are 6 new caches placed here plus the one that was already here. So plan on spending some time in this beautiful hiking area. Please do not leave any trash in the area and if you find any please practice CITO. Caches are placed a short distance from the main paths. PLEASE READ WARNINGS ABOUT THIS AREA. GPS accuracy was 8-12 ft due to tree cover.

WARNING: Especially in wet or slippery conditions I advise that you take the trail straight ahead and return the same trail to the trail that you will pass to the right. The "steps" from the falls are cut in stone and are narrow and can be very slippery. Please take care if you decide to travel the trail all the way around. All caches can be retrieved without taking the Indian trail from the bottom.

Rock Stalls Sanctuary is a part of the Camp Akita lands. It can be visited by any guest of the camp. The trail to Rock Stalls is approximately one-half mile long. It is five feet wide and is generally in good condition although much of it is of steep terrain. It is lined with an array of flora, having once been cut over and used for pasture, it is now reverting back to forest lands. Rock Stalls is a box canyon with a 50 foot waterfall at its headwall. The hemlock and beech tree-lined stream erodes away at the Blackhand sandstone. The vegetation is quite diverse to that of its surrounding area
