Harvestfest 2010 Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

hamgran: Bittersweet. That’s the word that comes to mind, as I sit here getting ready to hit the “archive” button on our last Harvestfest.
Knitter and I have had one heck of a run, these past six years, with this event. It was a tremendous amount of work, but we did enjoy every minute of it. It was wonderful seeing our old friends year after year, and meeting new ones every year. We’re certainly going to miss that. Hopefully we will be running into you at other events and perhaps on the trails.
Thanks, each and every one of you, for attending, for helping make this event what it became, for sharing in the good times and memories. Memories that we will always cherish. What a great hobby we have, and what great people we have to share it with!

Geocache Description:

Welcome to Harvestfest!

Come join us for our sixth annual Harvestfest event... relaxing geotalk and good times, on Saturday August 28, 2010.
We'll gather at the C.A.W. Hall (just down the street from our old venue, Louie's), between 11 a.m. and 12 noon.

Then at noon, for those who wish, our local Boy Scouts will be serving up a delicious Swiss Chalet chicken or rib lunch, complete with corn on the cob, baked potato with all the fixin's, baked beans, and rolls. Coffee, tea or juice, and dessert, for $12.a plate. The bar will also be open for drinks.

Come armed with your favourite geo-tale (a story about a geocaching adventure you've had) and share it with us, for a chance to win a cool prize!

We'll have a "Signature Item" table set up for those who have signature items they'd like to share. Bring a pile of your buttons, magnets, whatever you've created, and leave them on the table so other cachers can take one!

We're very fortunate to have brendah as our guest emcee this year. Banjosmom has graciously consented to handle the travel bugs, buttonmania the prize table, and thumper1 will be the official photographer. PumpkinOneA will take care of Harvestfest coin sales. Many thanks to all.

We are very grateful to this year's prize donors: Radioworld, GPSCity, WorldCaching, GPSCentral, Landsharkz, Coyle & Greer, Groundspeak, CAW Local 88, UpNorth Tracks, Ontario Geocaching Association, Ontario Harvestore Systems, Niagara Caching Supply, knitter, Cacher's Toy Box, CAMI Automotive, LarkParker, Cargoman, and Knightwatchman.

There are plenty of new caches in the area, so feel free to come spend the day caching, or join in the many great Harvestfest activities happening throughout our town.

In your log, please specify how many people will be attending the event, and also how many dinners you would like (specify chicken or rib, or vegetarian option).
