Geocache Description:

The school bus cache is back! This cache was created by the sixth graders in Whitnallgps's 7th & 8th period social studies classes. This cache is located in a nature pod next to our school and is part of a year-long class project.

This is a travel bug exchange cache. Meaning that if you take a travel bug, you are expected to leave one behind. The students have done research on travel bugs and have created their own. We are sending our travel bugs on a field trip, and would like for them to return to us by June 6, 2005. This is the official home for the start of the WMS '04 series of travel bugs. Please do not park in the school parking lots during school hours and do not make it obvious what you are doing if you see other people walking through the nature pod, especially our fabulous high school students from across the street. As this is part of a class project, we do not need our cache to get muggled. When you find the cache, please take one of our bugs that you have an interest in and help it move along towards its goal. We will be keeping track at school of where our travel bugs go. We are also interested in the travel bugs you have, so don't forget to leave one behind for us! New this year, there is a disposable camera in the cache. Please take a picture of yourself or your caching team. We would love to see who visits our cache. Let us know when the camera needs to be replaced. Please cover the cache very well when you are done with it.

Since Whitnallgps has two social studies classes this year, there are approximately 50 travel bugs that are being released this year. Most will begin in this cache while others may begin in other caches around the Milwaukee area. This is because we would like to have as many cachers as possible be involved in assisting the students with their project.

Click on the names of each travel bug below to learn more about where they would like to go. These 12 travel bugs from the 8th period class began the cache the week of Oct. 18th:

These travel bugs from the 7th Period class will be dropped in the cache the week of Oct. 25th:

The remaining WMS '04 series of travel bugs will either be placed in this cache or other caches in the Milwaukee area. If you happen to pick up one of our travel bugs, please keep it moving and attach pictures to your TB logs. The students are learning about the United States through the eyes of geocachers. Please check out our special travel bug from the 7th Period class, Washington State or Bust!. This travel bug is participating in a travel bug race with another 6th grade class from Washington state. Our TB is racing theirs called Field Trip To Cheeseland.
