Geocache Description:

This unique structure you will see was once part of a small farm. The barns are gone and no more livestock will be fed from this silo but it is a unique part of our Iowa agricultural heritage. Agribusiness has always been a big part of Iowa's economy and Iowa farmers have always been a resourceful group of people.

The local farmer who owned this site was able to make good use of discarded materials, along with the talents of a special Luxembourg immigrant, to build the silo you see today.

Your quest if you so choose is to visit this Virtual Geocache and email me the answers to the following questions. Please do not post your answers in your log or I will have to delete your log. You may submit your found log at any time after visiting this Virtual Geocache, but it may be deleted if I do not receive the correct answers in a reasonable amount of time:

1] Where did the discarded material used to build the Silo come from?

2} What was the name of this talented stone mason who immigrated from Luxemborg to Cascade?

3} If you choose please post a picture of yourself or group in front of or near this unique historic structure.
