Geocache Description:

Ford Motor Company has had continuous operations in Louisville
since 1913. This is the fifth cache in a series at or near past
and present Ford plants.

If you find all five of the Henry and Louis caches, you are eligible to find the Bonus Cache!

Ford had its local operations at 931 S Third Street from 1913 until 1925 when it moved further south to Eastern Parkway. During its entire span of production, this plant built Model T's. By the time production ceased for the Model T in 1927, more than 15 million had been sold — or half the world's total output up to that point.

The photograph above shows the entire workforce of the facility. I was surprised when I came across it in the archives and thought it was a mistake. When I found the building, though, I saw how small the place was and the workforce made more sense. The building directly southwest of groundzero is the original factory although it has gone through some small changes over the years including the addition of the second floor at the front of the building. I particularly love that the original brick alleyway is still intact. It gives one pause to recognize what humble beginnings Ford had in the Louisville community.

As for the cache, you are looking for a micro hidden in "Geojimmie" fashion. Thanks to him for the container and idea. I chose this container type due to the incredibly high muggle activity in the area. Please take care not to have the cache "discovered" by a muggle as I am quite limited in where I could place a cache in this historic area.
