Geocache Description:

Velmi cenny hrbitov s vice nez 400 nahrobky, mezi nimi barokni nahrobky jihoceskeho typu, ktere jsou zdobeny rostlinnymi motivy.
Byl zalozen v posledni ctvrtine 17. stoleti, v 19. stoleti byl rozsiren.

OBEC

Ve Ckyni nebylo typicke ghetto, skupiny zidovskych domu byly rozptylene po cele obci. Nejvetsi skupina 8 domu vsak pred polovinou 19. stol. (kdy z rodiny bydlely ve vice nez 40 domech) sousedila s novou synagogou.

Stara synagoga snad z 18. stol., umistena v arealu panskeho dvora na S okraji mestecka, byla po r. 1827 zmenena na stodolu a nejpozdeji r. 1977 s celym hosp. dvorem zborena.

Nova synagoga cp. 105 v J casti obce, mezi hlavni silnici a zeleznicnim nadrazim. Postavena r. 1828 v prostem klasicistnim slohu. Pravidelne bohosluzby do r. 1895, prilezitostne do 1. svet. valky, pozdeji budova adaptovana na remeslnickou dilnu. Po r. 1991 postupne restaurovana, planuje se vyuziti pro regionalni zid. muzeum, koncertni a vystavni sin.

HRBITOV

Hrbitov je asi 350 metru JV od mestecka, nad zeleznicni trati ze Strakonic do Vimperka.
Na hrbitove se naleza soubor baroknich, klasicistnich a novodobych nahrobku. Nejstarsi dochovany nahrobek je z roku 1688.
Celkem se zde konalo asi 500 pohrbu, v nove dobe predevsim z Vimperka. Pohrbivalo se tu az do roku 1942, kdy byli zdejsi Zide deportovani do nemeckych koncentracnich taboru, kde vetsinou zahynuli.

Povetsinou pusobenim pocasi a zarustanim vegetaci a casto i vandaly byl hrbitov ve sve novejsi casti poskozen.
Do roku 1938 jej spravovala Zidovska nabozenska obec ve Vimperku, po roce 1945 pak byl spravovan Zidovskou nabozenskou obci v Plzni a nyni je ve vlastnictvi Zidovske obce v Praze.
Rekonstrukce hrbitova s marnici probehla v letech 1982 - 1995. Na opravach se podilel Obecni urad v Prachaticich, Zidovska obec v Praze a obcane ze Ckyne.

Ve hrbitovni marnici z 19. stoleti je pametni deska pripominajici zidovskou komunitu a obeti holocaustu ze Ckynska. Na marnici je hebrejsky napis.

Die älteste urkundliche Erwähnung stammt aus dem Jahre 1243. In der Ortschaft gab es eine zahlreiche, jüdische Besiedlung, deren Anfang man ins 16. Jahrhundert legen kann. In der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jhd. zählte man 30 jüdische Familien, diese hatten auch einen geistlichen Rabbi, Lehrer und Tempel. Nur zwei jüdische Bürger überlebten die deutsche Okkupation. Die Synagoge wurde 1828 aufgebaut und es gab hier bis 1895 Gottesdienste. Die Gesellschaft für die Erneuerung der jüdischen Synagoge in Ckyne bemüht sich um die gesamte Rekonstruktion des Tempels und um den Aufbau des regionalen jüdischen Museums. Der jüdische Friedhof liegt am östlichen Hang oberhalb des Ortes. Er wurde am Ende des 17. Jhds. gegründet. Die ältesten Grabsteine stammen von 1688 und 1700. Das letzte Begräbnis war im Jahre 1942. Der Friedhof wurde in den Jahren 1982–1995 renoviert.

The oldest documentary mention originates from the year 1243. In the locality there was a numerous, Jewish settlement, their beginning one in 16.Century to put can. In the first half 19.Cent. counted one 30 Jewish families, these had also a religious Rabbi, teacher and a temple. Only two Jewish citizens survived the German Ocupation. The synagog was developed 1828 and it gave here to 1895 services. The society for the renewal of the Jewish synagog in Ckyne strives around the entire reconstruction of the temple and for the structure of the regional Jewish museum. The Jewish cemetery is because of the eastern slope above the place. It became at the end 17. Cent. based. The oldest gravestones come from 1688 and 1700. The last funeral was in the year 1942. The cemetery was reconditioned in the years –1982 1995.
