Quicksilver Sig Item Trading Post Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Nazgul: Stopped by today to archive this cache, since the park is so stuffed with them these days. Only scraps of sig items remained really, and one TB that I'll move along. Thanks to all who visited!

Geocache Description:

This is a trading cache with a theme of geocaching signature items. For trades, you may leave only signature items if you take signature items, or leave ONLY geocoins if you take a geocoin. You must trade fairly, and please note your trades in your log. You can also trade regular trading items in this cache if you so desire (people have) but please do not under any circumstances trade a non-theme trade item for one in theme

This cache is located by the Mockingbird Hill parking lot for Almaden Quicksilver park. Park at the lot, which is also a good starting point for several of the many caches in the park. The lot is open roughly the same time as the park, which is 8am to sunset. The cache is a very brief walk away, only a few yards from the paved road.

In warmer weather you'll want to stay alert for snakes, ticks, and the usual other critters in this park. There were three deer bedded down uder a tree about 100' from this cache when I placed it. Please re-hide the cache as well or better than you found it.

The cache is a large ammo can, a bit of an odd size because it's similar to the usual .50 caliber can but it's just slightly larger. There should be adequate room for most anything. The initial contents of this cache are listed in the logs.

While you're only permitted one find on this cache, anyone is welcome to return whenever they like to trade signature items. Please trade fairly with respect to the rarity and desirability of the sig items.

Congrats to ProTechCC for being FTF!

Note 4/27/05: The cache has been moved much closer to parking so there is a lot less grass to walk through and less chance of disturbing the local deer. You'll need to be a little stealthier about retrieving it. There is a little poison oak in the general area but it is easily avoided, just circle around as necessary.

NOTE: A rattlesnake was once seen near the cache in May 2005. They are fairly common in this park for much of the year so please proceed with due caution.
