#8 All Hallows Eve Trick-or-Treat Cache Series Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

BlueRajah: I am archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Please notice that I asked you some time ago to check this cache, and no action was taken. I had hoped that the cache may be replaced, or a note placed that you were going to go check on this cache in the near future.

If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the next three months please contact me, and assuming it meets the guidelines, I will be happy to unarchive it.
Thank you,

Geocache Description:

Welcome to our “All Hallows Eve Trick-or-Treat Cache Series”. We have designed this series, consisting of 13 caches, for all of you Halloween lovers. Whether you are a ghost hunter, a thrill seeker, or just love the idea of the “spookies”, this cache series will give you the chills. Below is a guideline and instructions to finding and playing the series...

Because these caches are not necessarily in “close proximity” to each other, we decided to create individual caches. This way you can visit them in any order, yet still get the excitement of “Trick or Treating” for caches. Although they are not considered a “multi cache”, you still must visit each of the first 12 in order to find the cords for the location of the final 13th Halloween Cache, which will be the “jackpot” for all Trick or Treaters! The estimated route to gather all 13 caches is 27 miles and they all are placed in Northern Utah County. About 1.5 hours, depending on how fast you are at Trick-or-Treating ;)

This series has what we like to call a “Trick or Treat” theme. A “Trick” may be a cache that is a micro or small container and may only contain a log (your own pencil may be needed for some caches) and either a clue or part of the coordinates for the final 13th cache. Whereas a “Treat” cache would be a larger container where you will be able to trade items (Halloween themed SWAG, TBs, Coins, or Signature Items of course), sign a log, and pick up either a clue and another part of the coordinates to your final 13th cache.

Please do not post on any of your logs whether or not the cache you found was a “Trick” or a “Treat”. Don’t list the items traded as this would also give it away. Obviously, this would ruin the surprise for other geocachers that are on the hunt.

Each cache will have a story card inside, describing the location and why it was chosen as one of our “haunts” to place that cache. You get a cache, a short history lesson, and maybe even some goose bumps for your find ;) The clues and cords for the final 13th cache will be at the bottom of the story card. Don't forget to write it down. You will need it if you want to finish the series ;) Make sure to replace the story cards back in the caches!

Some items for the “Treat” caches may include but not limited to:

1.   1.  Spider, bat, and other spooky rings.
2.
 Scary shaped erasers.
3.
  Haunted pencils.
4.
  Disgustingly rotten teeth.
5.
  Ghastly Cookie Cutters.
6.
  Cute Halloween figurines.
7.
  Freakish puzzles

8.  8.  Stinky stickers
9.
  Horrific adorable tattoos

10. Boney Skeletons, and other creatures
11. Wicked activity books
12.
Deceiving Masks
13.
And maybe even a haunting ghost or surprise…
14. TBs, Signature Items, or Other Trackables

Even though this is a Halloween series and we all love it, please do not leave candy in the caches as trade items as it falls under the guidelines for what not to place in a geocache. Make sure that the items you trade are of a spooky or Halloween Season nature. Let’s keep the theme going!

The locations for the caches are said to be “haunted” or are just spooky in general for Utah County. Please note that there is no real harm from “supernatural beings”. It is all for enjoyment purposes only. We ask that you still remain safe and follow the same precautions that you would on any geocache hunt. Please keep in mind that some of the “ghostly haunts” are inside buildings and the forces have drawn the caches very close to them. Some of them are actually “on” the buildings themselves. However they have been strategically hidden so that you may still blend in with the “Muggle” community around you and be able to swipe the cache from it’s hiding spot. Just be sure to remember to replace it exactly as you found it for the next person to find.

To sum it all up... Any of you that have ever placed a multi cache or a series of caches will now how difficult they are to get organized. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears, not to mention 3 weeks of planning and research went into this "All Hallows Eve Trick-or-Treat Cache Series"! Please be respectful and leave the caches as you find them, trade evenly, play by the rules, and have fun! We want you all to enjoy yourself and have fun being "spooked" and hunting for caches. Find the kid inside yourself and make sure to take the kids with you. As my husband says, "Spending time with the family... It's all about the hunt..."
