from Castle Donington, near the Priest House Hotel.
"Dave" is a very large container that can be clearly seen from
the river, but I wouldn't advise you to approach from the river
side, unless you have a boat and climbing equipment. Or in the dark
for that matter.
There are no signposted paths, but plenty of evidence of worn
tracks through carpets of wild garlic. Walk out up the road, past
the cottages, and do a right into the woods, then hop over a small
stream.
The walk to the cache is 3 at best (worst??), can be very muddy.
Take extra care at the cache location, it's very steep on the river
side.
Keep geomuttz and geokidz on a leash near to the cache.
Dave is secured to his location. You don't need to move him to
sign the log, but you might feel more comfortable in doing so. You
can temporarily remove him, but please make sure Dave goes back
secured and the restrainer line hidden from the footpath. We don't
want to find a report of a "body in the river" in the local
papers.
