As we approach our 5000th find, we've been getting all nostalgic, thinking about caches near home that are now archived for one reason or another.
We've also been looking into the history of our house and the area it is in and have found some great maps of the area from 1833-1837.
We thought it might be fun to combine these to set a cache.
Here is a map of the Bolas Heath area from that time. It might come in useful in finding the cache!

What You Need To Do...
All you need to do is look at the following caches that used to be in the area (but are sadly now archived) and plot the co-ords at the top of each cache page on the old map above.
Once you have done this, locate the cache nearest to the following locations on the map to get values for A-H.
A. |
The Wood |
B. |
Chetwynd Lodge |
C. |
Warlake |
D. |
The Link |
E. |
Golden Hill |
F. |
Summer Hill |
G. |
Sidlington |
H. |
New Bridge |
The cache is at N52 4A.BCD W2 2E.FGH.
You can check your co-ords by clicking on the image below.
The Cache
The cache is not at the co-ordinates at the top of the page. You need to solve the simple puzzle above to find the real location of the cache.
In keeping with old-style caches, the cache is an ammo box filled with some good swaps and certificates for First, Second and Third to Find. It's in a beautiful location on a lovely walk.
It is theoretically possible to drive quite close to the cache, but you need to drive down a Bridleway, which is not allowed. Please park considerately and enjoy the walk instead.
At the time of placing, it was a little muddy on the approach to the cache, but nothing that you could not easily step around.
