Did you know that there were at least 312 military aircraft crashes or mishaps in New South Wales during the World War 2 years? The area where this Cache is, is also infamous for a historical crash landing of two twin-engine Avro Anson training planes which collided overhead and became entangled with one plane sitting on top of the other.( The mid-air collision of two Avro Anson aircraft, were on a training flight from No. 2 Service Flying Training School (2SFTS) based at Wagga Wagga, that resulted in this dramatic and successful crash landing...) The two crew members of the lower plane parachuted to safety, whilst Flying Officer Leonard Fuller, the pilot of the top plane undertook a daring and heroic flight of 8 kilometres before belly landing the two planes single-handed in a paddock approximately 4 kilometres from the town, of Brocklesby NSW.
