Alter traditioneller Cache, der mit dem Erdcache am selben Ort verbunden werden kann. Danke an Kruemelmonster und lp71 für das ursprüngliche legen dieses Caches und Baked_Beans für das pflegen.
Bei 'Unter Mammuts', auf halbem Wege zwischen der Innenstadt von Detmold und dem Hermannsdenkmal, findest du eine seltene geologische Erscheinung. Wenn Du etwas Zeit mitbringst, kannst du gut vom Bahnhof Detmold hierher und dann weiter zum Hermann wandern. Du kannst natürlich auch mit dem Wagen anreisen. Dann musst du dir in der Nähe einen geeigneten Parkplatz suchen (s.Parking). Bei N 51°55.430' und E 8°51.325' findest du eine Infotafel (mit Mammut!) für den Erdcache. Bei N51°55.414 E8°51.325 waren auch vier Mammut[-zeichnungen] an den Bäumen. Festes Schuhwerk ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen. Sei bitte vorsichtig, denn es kann sehr rutschig sein. Schon wegen der Gefahr plötzlicher Abbrüche betrete nicht die Überhänge und die Steilflächen unterhalb davon. Stelle bitte keine Grabungen an und hinterlasse keinen Abfall.
At 'Among Mammoths', half way between the centre of Detmold and the Hermann's Monument, there is a point of geological interest. If you are not in hurry, you can come here by walking from the railway station in Detmold and later you can go on to the Hermann's Monument. Of course you can travel to this cache by car, too. In this case you will have to find a suitable place to park your vehicle (see parking). At N 51°55.430'and E 8°51.325' you will find an information board (with a mammoth!) for the earthcache. Go to N51°55.414 and E8°51.325 and there used to be four mammoth[-drawings] on the trees. Please be careful, it might be slippery. Because the overhanging rocks might break down suddenly, please don't walk to them too closely. Please don't dig there and don't leave any litter.
