Part of
the Water of Leith cache series.
This one though is in a nice and busy place, right next to
Murrayfield Stadium. For those people that don't like Micro's, then
you are going to hate this! The container is only 25mm in lenght
and 10mm in diameter.
The Murrays were a prominent family in Scottish history - Sir
Andrew de Moray was a companion of William Wallace. An area of
Edinburgh, connected with the family, became known as Murrayfield
and it was here in 1925 that the Scottish Rugby Union Stadium was
inaugurated. In the first match there, Scotland beat England
14-11.
While primarily a rugby stadium, it is also used as a venue for
other events - pop concerts (from U2 to Tina Turner) and was the
Edinburgh location for the Pope's open-air youth rally during his
visit to Scotland in 1982. For a spell, Murrayfield was the home
ground for the Scottish Claymores, the NFL Europe American-style
football.
The clock seen on the right of the picture used to be inside the
ground (before the days of digital stadium displays). It was moved
outside a few years ago when Murrayfield was upgraded.
Down to the cache:
Due to the size of it, there is only a piece of paper in there for
the log (you will need to bring your own pencil). Please only leave
the date and your name in the boxes. When the paper starts to get
full, I will replace it and scan the old one onto here.
Please hook it back up into it's hiding location, don't let it just
hang as it can be seen by passing muggles.
The cache is fully accessible for disabled cachers.
For a real challenge, try and find it when a fixture is on
.
If you are new to Geocaching or don't know the area, then have a
