Rudolph, or as his friends called him, Rudy, always loved the game. He was a catcher in Little League, but he just wasn't quite good enough to make it past high school ball. After he accepted the fact that he would never be able to play pro ball, he changed his name and his goal.
Even though he wouldn't be able to play, he figured he could still be a part of the Great American Pasttime! His new aim in life is to be a professional baseball mascot.
He's got the enthusiasm and the moves, he's just got to find a team that wants what he's got. So, in order to get some free press, he signed up with this loose group of hopefuls to audition at seven different stadiums in seven different states.
He's only got one problem, he doesn't have any wheels! So Rooty needs your help. He's not picky about which stadiums he gets to, as long as they are all Major League Baseball stadiums and they are each in seven different states.
If you are willing to help Rooty achieve his dream in life, please see the rules below!

The MLB Travel Bug Race will start on Saturday, February 28, 2004 in
Marietta, Georgia.
In order to participate in the race (and win it of course) Rooty has to follow
some rules:
- Rooty must visit 7 states that have a major league baseball team (both
provinces in Canada are included in the race).
- Only 1 state/province allowed per travel bug. Get a list of all stadiums here.
- In order to get a credit, a picture must be taken as proof of visit and then
uploaded to this page.
- Rooty must be placed as close to the stadium as humanly possible, without
getting arrested. Rooty and stadium name must be somewhat legible in the
picture.
- No minor, college or other types of stadiums will be accepted.
- All travel bugs must physically be put in a cache - no electronic "drop-ins"
allowed.
- No travel bug racing owner can handle ANY of the racers at any given
time.
After Rooty has reached his 7th professional baseball stadium he must make
its way back to the Marietta, Georgia area.

Rooty is excited about his possibilities, but he's also excited about all the fun people he's going to get to meet and all the interesting places he's going to get to see along the way. He would very much appreciate it if you would help him put together a scrap-book of his journeys by posting notes and photos to this webpage.
GOOD LUCK ROOTY!!!!
