This Travel Bug is being sent out
in Memory of Jan185
Jan started geocaching as a past-time when she was diagnosed with Mutliple Myeloma. For many years it was a way for her to get out of the house, explore new places and stay positive during her chemotherapy treatments. She often cached with her Grand-daughter, 2 Son's, Daughter-In-Law, and friends. Even though she didn't always feel well she continued to pursue her love of Geocaching even if it meant it was going to be a day of "Road side" caches. Caching was a way for her to "LIVE" her life to it's fullest and feel that she was experiencing NEW places everyday.
Jan knew her cancer was fatal and wanted to also make sure she continued to travel from cache to cache even after she was gone. Her one request was that a "Travel Bug" be made in her memory so that she could travel to the places she only wished she could have traveled during her lifetime.
Jan passed away January 18, 2013 after an 8 year battle. Shortly after her death, her 2 son's decided to make her legacy a permanant part of their lives by both getting matching tattoos of this travel bug on their arms. The original tag along with some of Jan's ashes was brought to the Bahama's and sent on it's journey which Jan had so much hoped for. The other 2 tattoo versions of the tag can only be "coincidentally" found and logged if you happen to spot them.
Enjoy your Trip Jan....
Trackable is a picture of Jan185 along with a small bottle of beach sand and Jan's ashes. Please DO NOT keep this as it was Jan's wishes that she travel from cache to cache around the world.

What an incredible way to honor your mom. I am sorry for your loss. I haven’t been geocaching much in the last 3 years but I am trying to get back into it. Your moms travelbug is the first I have logged under my new account. I didn’t not discover while out geocaching but managed to spot one of the heartfelt tattoos. ❤️

We've retrieved the travel bug from De Kegel (first-time users of the app), took it to Oostende Airport and found a very friendly couple willing to take it to Barcelona today. Thumbs up! Safe trip, Jan..
