Current Goal

Please take this coin to visit horses - a barn, a race, a farm, anywhere - and take pictures with it and horses along the way. I would particularly like it to visit:

1) Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, site of the first leg of the Triple Crown;
2) Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland, site of the second leg of the Triple Crown; and
3) Belmont Park in Belmont, New York, site of the third leg of the Triple Crown.

Bonus if you can get the coin there for any of the Triple Crown races. Bonus number two, visit

COMPLETE: 4) Saratoga Harness Racetrack in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. to visit "Star of Paradise", my friend's pacer (although I'm not sure if he's still running). -- Thanks to racnla for bringing the coin here and taking great photos! Now on to the other goals!

About This Item

In the more-than-125-year history of the U.S. events, only 11 horses have ever won the U.S. Triple Crown, and none since 1978, when "Affirmed" took the title. Congratulations to "Street Sense", winner of the 2007 Kentucky Derby, earning him the roses as this coin was launched.

I have never been to the Kentucky Derby, but I've always wanted to go. My family took me to see Silver Charm run vie for the Triple Crown in its last leg at Belmont in '97. I had a blast. One of these days, I'll make it there.

    Just had to grab this beauty. We'll look for a place to drop it that would be enticing for the owner to come visit before it sets out on the long journey. :-)
