This pottery coin is one of a set of four we are 'setting free' in celebration of our 200 cache milestone on July 28 2007. The release was held off until October 6th at the “Geocoinfest Multi Event - Aotearoa (Canterbury)”.

Each has a different pattern of an ancient Chinese Animal; representing a direction,a season & an element.
Red Phoenix - South, Summer, Fire
Azure Dragon - East, Spring, Wood
White Tiger - West, Autumn, Metal
Black Tortoise - North, Winter, Water

We located this coin and had no idea we were supposed to take the entire package of coins. This means that we only took 1 of them breaking the set, opps. We have taken the Red Phoenix (south) as we are going that way. I can only hope someone can reunite them together. cheers
