Current Goal

While Speedy can move a bit on his own, he needs your help to cross greater distances.

At this point, I just would really like to know where Speedy is. I've been tracking him for a long while, and am so sad to have had him disappear just after reaching his goal. If he does show up again, my hope is that he'll travel back to the Bay Area of California, where I'd happily retire him. Won't you help him home? If/when he shows back up, I'll add more specifics as to his goal location. We'd love to have pictures of Speedy along his travels.

Speedy at Home

Speedy's prior goals: FIRST: Speedy is trying to make his way to visit his grandparents in Los Gatos, CA. He'd like to make it to the Los Gatos Creek Trail Cache at N 37° 15.658 W 121° 57.330.

Speedy would especially love to visit his Mom and Dad in Kansas City, MO. Speedy missed his folks in Kansas City by just a couple of days, but his uncle did get to visit when he was in Colorado Springs, CO.

SECOND:Speedy is off on his second geocaching adventure, after having completed his prior goal rather successfully. He was re-released in the vicinity of Las Vegas, NV and is now trying to get as close to the family homestead in Peterborough, NH as possible. At the moment the closest cache, I think is GCGWXT, Contoocook Cash.

After plea from owner we went up this morning and rescued this bug from our cache. Will move it along soon...that is if I can hide it from my 28 month old. He LOVES cars, in fact we are using them as incentives in his potty training...he saw this care (which by the way is a COOL car) and screamed MY CAR...I had to wrestle it away from him. Don't worry, it will be safe til we pass it on.

Big Red Speedy had been garaged in a large urban cache in Mesa, AZ, where he was being driven daily by a little ol' moose named Albert from Canada. We brought him home to meet with some other Friends Again, where they formed a Travel Bug support group. That sat around talking about the trials and tribulations of being a Travel Bug. Some complained about being cooped up in a box for long periods while others extrapolated on the pressure of life travelling on the road, constantly being sidetracked and delayed from their intended destination. Still others voiced their concern about the long term effects on their posture of having stuff chained around their neck all the time. Yes, a few tears were shed but there were happy moments too as they described some of the wonderful sites they had seen and the people they had met in their travels.
