Famous Mathematicians #1: Leonardo Fibonacci

Each semester my students complete a “History of Mathematics” project. Through these projects we have learned about some pretty interesting mathematicians. This coin is in honor of Leonardo Fibonacci, an Italian mathematician who lived around 1200, whose nickname was "The Blockhead". This coin would like to ultimately tour Fibonacci’s homeland of Italy and along the way visit some nice Italian neighborhoods, Italian restaurants, etc.
