Current Goal

I Have the Travel Bug!
This is a school project hosted by grade 2 class at Sussex Corner Elementary School. We released 20 travel bugs in April 2008. The children learned about geocaching, travel bugs, the geocaching website and wrote biographies about the travel bugs. My goal is for the children to learn about the different communities and families that their travel bugs encounter.
Your participation is appreciated . I have never seen my students more excited about a project! Please move this travel bug to a new location and document adventures and experiences on the website. The children will continue to track their travel bugs for years to come.

thescheib and I met Alexander in a geocache called the Cliffs of Insanity. Pretty insane place to leave a wee little superfighter, to be sure! This cache was under a rock in the edge of a cliff that went WAY down to the Yuba River... so if he fell out (or climbed out), he might fall down the granite and into the water and be carried away in the icy snowmelt all the way back down to the Sacramento River. But! We saved him! He was damp inside his cache hiding spot, and his information tag was all blurry. (Did you know that the black ink on his tag dissolved into swirls of green, purple, pink, and blue? Pretty cool...) We will make him a new tag before we send him on his way elsewhere. While he's waiting, he'll hang out at our house in Truckee, CA, up in the Sierras. It is November and we already have a bit of snow in our back yard. We'll be sure to find a cool place to leave him - or another interesting cacher to travel with.
