This bug is in a race with the "Baby Steps" TB. "Giant Steps" accumulates points only for big cache-to-cache jumps; it loses points for short jumps.

About This Item

The idea behind this race is to see which bug will travel more: one restricted to short jumps, or one restricted to long jumps. The scoring method for the first round is pretty arbitrary, and will change in subsequent rounds if it results in very lopsided scores.

Round 1: October 2005 through February 28, 2006

Scoring:

  • "Baby Steps" accumulates points for any cache-to-cache trip shorter than 20 miles, and loses points for any trip over 20 miles: points per trip = (20 - distance in miles) * 25.
  • "Giant Steps" accumulates points for any cache-to-cache trip longer than 300 miles, and loses points for any trip under 300 miles: points per trip = (distance in miles - 300) * 10.
  • Additionally, each bug picks up 25 points per cache visted.
  • No points are given if a bug is logged out of a cache and then back into the same cache.
  • No points for Stargate travel.
  • No mailing the bugs.

    My first discovery of a travel bug and 3rd geo-cache find. didn't feel right taking it with out a trade; so left a turtle light and coin in its place. Will give this a nice lift to the other side of the province. Look forward to following it's travels.😎
