Suki enjoyed being carried most of the way up the hill to the hotel ruins. She was on her own on the way down and back up from this cache. She also walked all the way down from the hotel. She did not like the echo phone! Goria would yell her name into it and Suki would look at her. A second or two later, the mountains would call Suki. She did not like the fact that the mountains knew her name!
Suki came up here on September 30, 2013, not on September 17, 2013!

We came to Pine Valley to escape from LA and the heat for the weekend. This cache is in the parking lot for one of Mindawg's favorite hikes. Suki likes it here too but she hasn't really learned to appreciate getting her hands and feet wet. No matter! We took her for a bike ride instead.
We came here last night for the talk about mountain lions. It was held at the Nature Center. Suki has attended several talks here and usually nobody notices her. Last night some mean, old man followed us out of the building after the talk and told us,"not to bring her back even though she was quiet". Seriously? What an asshole! He chased us down just to tell us that! I hope when I'm that old that I'm not that mean and bitter. If I am, I hope nobody lets me volunteer at a nature center.
Suki enjoyed her little walk up to Chip's Oasis. It is so sad that dogs don't get to stay with us for very long. We wish we could have met Chip and we wish Mindawg was still with us. Rest (or play!) in peace little dog souls! Your humans miss you.
Suki came up here to cheer on her friend who was running the AC100. We waited about 2.5 hours at Shortcut Saddle (about 60 miles into the race) for her to arrive. While waiting, Suki hiked a little way down then back up the Silver Moccasin Trail. Eventually her friend arrived and Suki was honored that her friend actually stopped running her race long enough to give Suki a pat on the head! It was worth the wait! On our way home, Suki sniffed out this cache...with some help from the guy with the big red dog.
