Please take me all around the world and help me learn how to sing. If you decide to pick me up and pass me on, please put me in your pocket first and go to a place where someone
knows how to sing well. It could be any singer(s): in a church, a choir, any concert or the pub... This way I might finally learn how to sing. Drop a little note on the adventure and send me on my way. Remember: do not keep me, as I am a true Bavarian who is very eager to see his home town again someday. Please don't make me homesick!
Once I have seen at least one country on every continent, finally send me back to Munich city.

Aloisius (I) - Help me learn how to sing...

I am a famous Munich travelbug. The author Ludwig Thoma characterized me quite well in
1911. When still alive my name was Alois Hingerl - before I died I worked as a porter at
the Munich train station and exhausted myself to the point that I got a heart attack and
died. Angels brought me up to heaven, stuck me into an angel rope with wings,gave me a
harp and ordered me to sing halleluja (yes, that is me in action!).

Can you imagine that? A full grown Bavarian man singing halleluja all day long? I
am a true Bavarian who always loved his lederhosn and his beer - how do you expect someone
like that to be angellike and sing halleluja all day?! And all for a little ambrosia in
return? No beer, no tobacco?!

Impossible! Well, as it were, I quickly got fed up with this whole angelic business... I
was never any good in singing anyway, and as my spirit grew more ill tempered my playing
the harp got that noisy and unbearable that it woke God Himself from his nap.

Petrus had me cited in front of God who demanded to know what the heck was going on. When
he learnt that I was from Munich, he told Petrus: "A guy from Munich! He is no use for us
up here!"

But He had a brilliant idea: "send him back to Munich once or twice a week as a messenger
to give the Bavarian government my heavenly advice - this way he can frequently visit his
old home town and his soul will finally be at peace!"

I was so glad to hear it. Off I was sent with the first letter containing heavenly
advice, but as soon as I touched the ground of my old Munich I felt so thirsty! I heard
the Hofbrauhaus calling - I simply had to go there for a quick beer! And the beer tasted
so wonderful, I simply had to get another one, and another one, and Resi, the waitress
was so nice (as always), a real Weibsbuild, and I felt so much at home! It was so cosy,
I never could get myself to leave the pub eversince.

To cut a long story short:
I DO have a bit of a bad conscience: I think the Bavarian government is still
waiting for the heavenly advice. Also my singing skills were so poor that they expelled me from Heaven. Therefore I am on a mission.
