The City Of Ruins
It is just
four kilometres out of town on Weaber Plains road. It's an area of
intriguing sandstone formations which are supposed to resemble the
remains of an ancient city. I can't see a city but it's a beautiful
area nevertheless, great for bushwalking, especially in the
afternoons when the rocks glow in their most intense
colours.
Access
by 4WD only, however you can take a stroll through the 'City of
Ruins' from the road side, a truly magnificent sight. It is approx
250m from the road side to the cache.
To
drive through the sandy tracks, you keep an eye on a bus stop on
the right side of road, approx 100m past then turn right into the
track. There are several tracks around the City of Ruins. See the
