To Cruise among the Hardwoods, looking for beauties to Measure Up.
I am a Cruising or Biltmore Stick used to size up merchantable board feet from standing Hardwoods. I have demarcations used to determine Diameter at Breast Height (DBH) and the number of 8' or 16' saw Logs from Standing Timber. I am pretty Crude, but I am serviceable and rather accurate. Grab me and we'll go Cruisin together!

We checked out the stick but determined that we did not have enough information to attempt the cache. Maybe next time.

Headed to High Cliff today with G.4ce, Hack1of2, Hearty Soles and Lacknothing. I was very interested in this stick and it's use. No luck today but hope to get back for another try in the future.

Since there is no cache at the front gates of High Cliff, this walking stick in my virtual possession (but physically placed at the front desk) should only be logged as "Discovered" to avoid these odd virtual changes of possession. These sticks are only meant to travel within the park.

I saw Cruisin as part of the three amigos in the park office. I checked out one and left the other two behind. I'll come back for this one when I find a caching buddy who thinks like CJ.

Another useful and decorated stick. Amazing a tool such as this would have been used. Must have required lots of practice and training to get down the art because between the three of us using the stick, we had a heck of a time getting numbers that agreed.
