• About This Item

Mitsuko Bug

The best way to track down a cacher to look for the caches that he's visited or placed. Psychology would state that the earlier the find or placement, the more likely it is to be near their home.

I found Choberiba! Here's a picture of the two of us together!

I need to find Mopar.

For those who don't read the Geocaching Discussion Forums, we can always count on our good friend Choberiba (alias Eric O'Connor) to keep things in perspective with a good sense of humor. Occassionally, though, it comes back to bite him. A while back, he created a login named Mitsuko to play a practical joke. Unfortunately, it kinda got a little out of hand and some people's feelings got hurt. Read Choberiba's Dissertation here. I've mellowed after the weeks that this occurred, so much that I felt the need to have a little fun myself. Mitsuko is alive and well, and has a new attitude. She has hiking boots and is trying to make her way to her creator, then to the target of the joke, and then back home.

Before sending this travel bug on
its mission, I obtained permission
from Choberiba and Mopar.

Further Information
Her posts were wiped from the boards, but some remnants remain. In this post, it shows that Mitsuko was clever enough to post thoughts in the Thailand thread to give credence to her Asian heritage

Here is another reference (with picture!).

Here's another reference by BrianSnat, and an entire thread about her. As far as I know, there was no real “joke” beyond baiting Mopar with a personality that was too good to be true: a very bright, gorgeous woman that was into Geocaching, and happened to live near Mopar.

Crud.

April 9 by The Land Hawks (4 found)
We really enjoyed our walk at Bye. Spring is the air! The cache was found by the youngest of our team. Suprising...his first try and Bingo..leave it to a six year old. Took the TB. Plannning to place it in a more frequented spot to help its journey.

The Land Hawks have never logged a TB on their profile. They've logged in as recently as May, but they're not responding to my e-mails.

I may have to mark this one missing.

Mitsuko has been hanging around the KD & MS home way too long. She's starting to get herself in trouble now. She's on the phone all the time, always looking in the mirror, and flirting with all of the boys in the neighborhood! Just how old is this Mitsuko anyway?! She leaves a mess everywhere, clothes on the floor, and how does she survive on chips and soda anyway? Must be a teenager. I want her out of the house, I tell you, she must go! Besides, she needs to travel and get educated anyway. Every sentence starts with "When I went to band camp..." The other day I heard her muttering something about Mopar...whew, I'm sure glad she won't be running into him while still in CT...she's not to be trusted, this one!

We're bringing her to a geo-beach party this weekend, where she just might help us celebrate our 1000th cache. I sure hope she behaves herself. Then we want to set her free and say goodbye, good riddance! Who do I send the bill to for the nail polish stain on the carpet?

Mitsuko was quite disappointed that she missed the MoHo wedding, as we had plans of taking her. However, the call of duty came, and katydid went down south with the Red Cross to help with Katrina, so at least there was a good reason for missing it anyway. Now poor Mitsuko is ready to venture out again, after being stuck for some time.

On the other hand, maybe it's a good thing she didn't attend the wedding. I'm not so sure she wouldn't have "objected". We'll set her free again soon.

Mitsuko was resting well at her temporary home in Penwood State Park. Katydid will take her on her trip to NE CT and find her a new home soon. We hope she finds her way to you in short order. As always, enjoy the adventure! 😁
