Saturday, October 22 at Rocky Neck State Park, Niantic, CT
Bring your bikes!
This event is located at Rocky Neck State Park, a beautiful place for hiking, fishing, exploring, light-to-heavy biking, and now, GEOCACHING, all at a wonderful, ocean-side setting. There are 3 existing geocaches here, as well as more than a dozen letterboxes. We plan to set out quite a few more (caches) to challenge and intrigue. Come spend the day caching the park, both near and far from the water, but save time around 2:00 for the traditional event pot-luck luncheon (food/drink donations both welcomed and encouraged). Listed coords will lead you to the picnic area. Weather permitting, we may move the luncheon to a more ocean-front setting.
Parking is ample, and, given that we're off-season, FREE. The park itself closes at 6:30, and camping is over for the season. Rocky Neck has great hiking trails as well as wonderful paved trails. We suggest you bring your bikes along to help your travel throughout the park. See the listed website for park and campground maps.
