Current Goal

This Trackable is found on the highly-competitive FTF (first-to-find a geocache) hunt in Seattle. The honor from finding the Seattle FTF Bell is immeasurable, and the bearers of this Bell should be accorded the respect and bragging rights due to these infamous cachers. Ideally, the Bell is displayed prominently by the tireless cacher while searching for those elusive FTFs. Some might say that this is to give the rest of us a chance, but truly this honor transcends such petty utilitarian goals.

This Trackable should stay with the finder, and be re-hidden (physically or as an off-site FTF prize) in a new Seattle cache, ideally within two months of finding it. As it is meant to be found and logged with an FTF, please do not discover the Bell, but feel free to write a note. All members of a co-FTF team may log the Bell, of course.  In addition, please no "visits" to caches because it clogs this page, but logging a visit to events is encouraged!

If you forsee that you are unable to place the Seattle FTF Bell in a new cache within Seattle in the suggested time period, please contact the owner (Team Maccabee), and we will find someone who will be able to do so. You will remain on the list of finders, of course.

I'm trying to track down the Bell. If any of you all know Qaz & Kids, can you have them contact me? I sent a message, as well.

It’s been awhile since this guy has made a move. I hope all is well in the world of the bell.

Edited the description to emphasize the logging rules:
1. Log a "Found It" or "Grabbed It" only if you were part of the FTF team.
2. Do not log a "Discovered It" on the Seattle FTF Bell page.
3. Do not log a visit to a cache, even if the Bell is with you, except with my permission on a historic cache (e.g. the 1st cache) or location (e.g. Groundspeak HQ, Mt. Everest, Easter Island, etc.).
4. The current holders of the Bell (i.e. the last FTFer) may log a visit to an event if they bring it to the event.

I hope that clarifies things. I apologize to the recent discoverers for needing to delete your logs.

Thanks to everyone in the Seattle geo-community for making the Seattle FTF Bell a part of the community.

Team Maccabee

Edited to clarify possible exceptions.

Hi everyone. As the moderator of the Seattle FTF Bell (because the whole Seattle geocommunity owns it), I have to reiterate the rule in the last paragraph of the description:

As it is meant to be found with an FTF, please do not discover/log the Bell if you didn't find it on an FTF hunt, but feel free to write a note. All members of a co-FTF team may log the Bell, of course. In addition, please no "visits" to caches because it clogs this page, but visiting events is encouraged!

I apologize to the recent discoverers for deleting your logs. Thank you, everyone, for keeping the Bell page clean.

Met up with crs98 at the Sasquatch Coin Hunt for the handoff. Never thought this ol' thing would end up in my possession but here we are. Glad to be added to the list of previous holders.
