Current Goal

The coin commemorates the UK's accession to the European Economic Community, depicted by nine clasped hands. Each hand represents one of the members of the EEC. I would like this slug to visit each country that was a member state at that time:

Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Germany, Netherlands, Ireland, Denmark, and Britain.

Photos of my slug in the capital cities of each country would be appreciated.

About This Item

queens_nose

The slug is attached to an old 50 pence piece, featuring a wreath of clasped hands. This TB is named after a book by Dick King-Smith, where the main character received a 50p with this design, which granted the holder a number of wishes. I can't guarantee that this coin will do the same, but you can always hope!

Note that the coin is no longer legal tender, so please don't try to spend it!

Great to see some of the old coins - this might just have given me an idea for my collection of old coins 🙂. Thanks for sharing. Will try and move this one towards London so that it can have its photo taken there.
