Paper tag missing. Off to Wales for a camping holiday. Heres a for a dish famed in Wales.

Welsh Cakes

250g self raising flour
125g butter
125g Sugar
125g Sultanas (i use mixed fruit)
pinch of cinnamon
1 large egg, beaten

rub flour, butter and sugar to a fine crumb. Add spice. Make a well in the centre, then add egg and fruit. Mix to a firm dough, roll out to 0.75 cm thick. Cut into rounds. (about the size of a tea cup). Cook on a bake stone(or heated griddle or a heavy frying pan) until brown on both sides. leave to Cool (if you can)

serve with either
a sprinkle of sugar
or
buttered
or
buttered with jam.
