Hi, I'm a Georgia State Parks Geo-Challenge Travel Gopher. My goal is to travel around the USA, from cache to cache, to raise awareness for our spectacular state parks, our cool historic sites and the new Georgia State Parks Geo-Challenge! Log your visit, and move me to a new geocache in the USA!
This Travel Gopher comes from Fort Mountain State Park, Chatsworth GA 706-442-1932
Come see the mysterious 855-foot-long rock wall which stands at the highest point of the mountain. It is thought to have been built by Indians as fortification or for ancient ceremonies. This park is located in the Chattahoochee National Forest and offers 66 miles of trails for hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders on some of the most beautiful trails in north Georgia! Fort Mountain is also one of the stops in the Muddy Spokes mountain biking club and fishing, canoe and pedal boat rentals are available along with plenty of camping, cottages, picnic shelters and a group shelter for overnighters.
