Hi, I'm a Georgia State Parks Geo-Challenge Travel Gopher. My goal is to travel around the USA, from cache to cache, to raise awareness for our spectacular state parks, our cool historic sites and the new Georgia State Parks Geo-Challenge! Log your visit, and move me to a new geocache in the USA.
This Travel Gopher comes from Kolomoki Mounds State Historic Park, Blakely GA 229-724-2150
This unusual park is an important archaeological site as well as a scenic recreational area. Occupied by America Indians between 350-750 A.D., there are 7 earthen mounds and a museum built around an excavated mound, providing a unique setting. Inside the museum visitors will enjoy numerous artifacts and an interesting film There are 5 miles of great hiking trails for all activity levels, and canoe rentals for hours of good fishing. Other outdoor activities include camping, picnicking and boating.
