Fawley Owl
is a kind, helpful and cheerful little soul who is very inquisitive and loves
to meet children of all ages.
He was hatched
and hand-reared in 2002 by Fawley Infant Schools' Reception Class (now Year 2), who were between four
and five years of age. They took considerable time to train him and teach
him to be polite in the company of strangers. Following Fawley Owl's progress
around the country (or even the world!) is an excellent introduction for the
children into the use of computers, the Internet, and basic geography.
The class would
love to hear from other children who have found him and taken him to their school
to introduce him to their friends. If you have children of any age and find
Fawley Owl, please encourage your child to take him along to school and have
his picture taken with them.
If you would like
to visit the school's website, please click
here.
The children look
forward to watching his progress!

Picked Fawley up a while ago and forgot to log the find. I will try to get him closer to some schools. Hey I got to do the floors in one school tonight so maybe I'll bring him. To Bad I don't have a camera!!

Dropped off your TB here in Alberta one the day we celebrated our 100th Birthday of joining Canada. There are many celebrations all over the province taking place today. Today is also the fist day of school in Alberta - hopefully Fawley will visit some of those children soon. Happy travel Fawley...

Great to find this cute owl here in Ontario. We actually heard a few owls while hiking this afternoon. I love how you've included the sound file on this page! I will take this little guy to another location soon.. School doesn't go back until Sept - he'll have to meet some school children then! Great work everyone!

Fawley Owl and TandA are almost ready to go.
Fawley's going to fly across the Atlantic Ocean with us to the province of Ontario in Canada. There's all kinds of wild life there and we're sure he'll meet some of his own species there, too.
We had a great time with our little owl friend and we're going to miss him. We'll keep track of his adventures, though as we're sure you all will, too. We'll find him a nice spot and tell you all about his new cache home.....
thanks for letting us take care of him,

TandA found this little fella in a nice watertight box in the woods in the middle of The Netherlands, near Arnhem.
We took him with us to the North of our country, to Groningen.
T(partofTandA) is a teacher and will show him around her school and take pictures there.
A(partofTandA)works at a Children´s Daycare Centre and of course the little owl has to make a trip to his place, too.
We´ll have plenty of opportunity to show our new little friend around.....
Pictures will be uploaded forthwith.
Meanwhile, we´ll take good care of our new friend. He seems to feel quite at ease here on our desk and the cats are already trying to befriend him.

Hi, nice owl! Fawley Owl is in good hands in the small city of Wageningen now. We retrieved him from the forrest near Bennekom, where Fawley Owl was hidden in the snow. We had a nice walk in the neighbourhood of the cache in an (quite unusual) white landscape. We will try to move Fawley asap.
