I asked my son to give me this medal to send it on a journey as a very special travelbug. It carries precious memories of a sports that we have doe together for many years. Our first race together was an olympic distance triathlon in 1985 in Schieder, Germany, over the years we did some ironman distance races. In 1996 he won his age group at the Ironman Hawaii, and in 1998 he won the Ultraman, another long distance triathlon held on the big island of hawaii, and still holds the course record.
Mein Sohn hat mir auf meine Bitte diese Medallie überlassen, um sie als ganz besonderen Travelbug auf die Reise schicken zu können. Sie ist ein Erinnerungsstück an den über eine lange Zeit gemeinsam betriebenen Sport. Erste (gemeinsame) Stationen: 1985 Schieder (Kurzdistanz), 1991 Herten, 1992 Roth (Langdistanz). Ein Höhepunkt für ihn war 1996 sein Alterklassensieg auf Hawaii, ein weiterer der Sieg beim Ultraman 1998, dessen Siegerzeit bis heute nicht unterboten wurde.
