Current Goal

Sharky was on his way to Egypt when he got caught up in a forest fire in a cache in Florida. Fellow geocachers rescued his remains, which only include the dog tag (see photo). The remains are now attached to information regarding the origins of Smokey the Bear. Please spread this TB to wooded areas in order to spread the message to those in the position to prevent forest fires. Ultimately, this TB's goal is to travel as many forests around the world as possible. Thanks.

Put this bug back in play today. Dropped it off at the Bump in the Road Cache in Estacada. Seems to be a popular spot for travel bugs. Sorry it took a while to get it back out there.

We recently found the bug in our cache that we deactivated this summer. The cache ended up on the wrong side of some construction at Barton Park in Barton Oregon (Bartfams Barton). We eventually got to the cache this winter and pulled it completely with plans of creating a cache in another location. We didn't locate the bug until we were home and going through the can. Not sure how it got to Barton from Lost at the Lake, but we'll get it out and back in ciruclation as soon as possible. It will be a good excuse to get back in the game. I'll let you know where it ends up.

Picked this travel bug up today and will drop it off in the forest up toward the Cascades as soon as possible.

Left this TB in Central Oregon where they have many forest fires in the summer. The cache is located near where they shoot off the fireworks over the city during the 4th of July and often set the hillside on fire with the duds. There is also a large memorial in the city park downtown to commemorate fallen forest fire fighters from this community lost in the Storm Mountain fire.
