Current Goal

UPDATE: Buckeye Bug has been Re-Released! After a successful 2006 Football season which included Buckeye Bug seeing nearly every home game (including the Michigan game), going to Austin, TX for the Texas game and getting to join back up with me for the National Championship game, it's time for BB to hit the trail again.
It took two seasons the first time around before Buckeye Bug made it to a game, how long will it take this time?

Help Buckeye Bug get to the Buckeye City (Columbus) so BB can help cheer on the Ohio State Buckeyes as they drive down the field to another successful season! Along the way BB would love to visit other college campuses. However, be wary of that state up north. Unless he's traveling with a group of fellow Buckeyes, BB doesn't want to visit Michigan.

OSU vs Michigan. College football doesn't get any bigger than this.

  • Coach Tressel leading the team to the stadium. Before every home game, the team stays at the Blackwell and walks to Skull Session, a pregame concert by the OSU Marching Band, then across Woody Hayes Blvd to the stadium. I couldn't get a picture of the Coach with Buckeye Bug TB, but here he is leading the team to the stadium.
  • The Bucks win # 12 This closes another perfect season with a win over 'that state up north'. Final score 42-39.
  • BigBill54 with Buckeye Bug This is the last game 'BigBill54' and 'The Good Wife' will have Buckeye Bug in hand. We've sure enjoyed hosting Buckeye Bug TB in completing the goal of attending the games this season. Now we have to find AZBliss02 in this sea of scarlet. We've got our cell phones, but with 106,000 other fans tying up the lines, we haven't been able to connect a call.

42 - 39

After a highly anticipated rivalry game lived up to all the hype, the Ohio State Buckeyes walked away victorious and the Buckeye Bug, that I said goodbye to 654 days ago, completed its first journey and returned to its owner. Everyone who helped BB along its path, thank you. A special thanks to BigBill54, you far exceeded every thought I could possibly have had in regards to BB's goals. It was a pleasure to meet you, your wife and the rest of Penton's Posse. Buckeye Bug will be heading back to Arizona with me where we will eagerly await the Buckeyes on January 8th, 2006. Will BB be at the game? Let's hope so. For now, it's mission complete for buckeye bug, that is until next year.

  • Bring It On! This illustration was on the November issue of Readers Digest cover. Central Ohio artist CJ Payne has done several covers for the digest in the past months. His photorealistic style accurately captures the essence of this college football rivalry. The Columbus Dispatch reprinted the illustration in today's paper.

I found this license plate on a car the other evening and I HAD to take a picture with Buckeye Bug.

For the second time this year, The Buckeyes are number ONE and facing the number TWO ranked team in the nation.

The Bucks made the trip to Evanston to face the 'mildcats'

Nothing better than hanging out with a bunch of Caching Buckeyes. Tonight's gathering was a little smaller than normal, but the food was good and the conversation lively. Lets go, Buckeye Bug, two days before The Buckeyes take the field against the Northwestern Wildcats in Evanston.
